THE SCHOOL VEGETABLE GARDEN


In the Technical Agropecuary Institute seat E Paramito, the teacher is developing the school vegetable garden´s proyect, she discovered that it isn´t only a pedagogic tool but too a practic model of the relationships between the human being and the nature.

The vegetable garden as a recourse for enviromental  education oriented towards  sustainable development  and a more humane education for children.

Is base don respect for nature and its various ecosystems, ensuring  a rational culture   with naturals means to promote biodiversity in the enviroment and the production healthier foods.

For this community the vegetable garden is an experience for:



  • To feel nearer  the  nature, to learn to value it and respect it.
  • To take conscience of importance of healthy  eating.
  • To learn of amusing way.
  • To teamwork ( do all the garden and all caregivers)
  • To take responsability.
  • To value the parent´s daily task.

Initially the vegetable garden working  only with children but seeking to help for youngsters to parents in linked, so this project was extended made the entire school community, making the most pleasant job because it´s not just a job planting plants but that  increased ties between  family members and families with the institution.

This year began on february 5, when meeting parents, students and teacher was fixed and prepared the  vegetable bed for later planting.  It was exciting  to see  parents help their children and teaching them how to grow.

The february 26, they did the sowed coriander, cucumber, parsley, vean and scallions,  Importantly, the interest and commitment of children every day watering the vegetable garden and observe the development of plants.



Actually this Project is in develop and they hope to achieve the objective.
